Job Description

The Lutheran World Federation, Department for World Service (LWF/DWS) - Ethiopia Programme invites qualified candidates to apply for the following vacant positions.  Currently, LWF is executing humanitarian and development projects in remote areas of Ethiopia and works closely with the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY), the Government, UN organizations and related agencies. Its thematic sectors, among others, include: Promotion of Food Security and Sustainable Livelihood, Natural Resources Managment, Emerency Response and Capacity Building.  The following positions are vacant for Lalibela Food Security Project and we hereby invite qualified candidates to apply:

Position: Agricultural Extension Worker (One) 
Job grade: 12 

Qualification

• Masters or Bachelor Degree in plant science or general agriculture or horticultural development.

Job Requirements

Required Experience

• Minimum of one year relevant work experience for Masters Degree and three years for Bachelor Degree.
  Experiences in irrigation agronomy, dry land agriculture and small holder farmers’ agricultural development are advantageous.

Additional requirements

• Proficiency in both written and  spoken English,
• Good skill in reporting and  monitoring,
• Skill in promoting and coordination of agricultural activities,
• Skill in training beneficiaries,
• Computer literate,
• Other job related trainings.

Project/Duty Station: Lalibela Food Security Project/ Lalibela, North Wollo Zone, Amhara Region

• Terms of employment is one year with possibility of extension
• Salary is as per the LWF-ET National staff salary scale
