Adigrat University announces academic positions for competent candidates with PhD or Masters (MSc/MA) or BSc/BA degree holders. (candidates with higher degrees in the same field will be given a priority without competition with lower degree holders). All applicants must have strong interest and high motivation for teaching, must be ready and committed to apply continuous assessment with continuous feedback, modular and student centered teaching-learning approaches, conduct research and community services. Applicants must submit their credentials stated below to the universities HR Directorate office in person or via representative until August 11, 2014.

All applicants should submit the following documents and beware of
Application letter (duly signed), curriculum vitae (with a scanned photo)
Academic credentials (all degrees with student copies; a copy of each along with its original for checking) and two letters of support from previous advisors and employer) (if possible and clearance from employer or evidence indicating that the applicant is not employed (required later from those accepted)
Pre-screened BSc/BA and MSc/MA holders and above shall be prepared for interviews and exams (BSc/BA) and 20 minutes PPT-seminars (MSc/MA & above) respectively and shall pass.
The above stated numbers may vary depending on new academic staff to be assigned by the MoE; or the final number of or student assigned to the university or the number of the university staff who might leave for their study or may join back, and announcement of final candidates may have a delay due to these considerations. This vacancy will continue for the coming six months for the fields which could not be filled by qualified candidates. In some fields, only higher degree may be required. There might also be also preferences to certain specializations within those stated as general fields/department. Some fields might be also suspended for this academic year due to other considerations.
Applicants who want to join the university on transfer basis for the above vacancies shall make their application within the specified time and are required to fulfill the requirements.
Applicants must be ready to enter into a contract with the university not to request for any leave (except for vertical study leave, horizontal study leave is not allowed at all times) before they render a minimum of 2 years service.
