5 IT System Engineers wanted @ Tulane International Ethiopia

Tulane International Ethiopia (TIE) is a non-profit organization that works in Monitoring and Evaluation, Health Management Information Systems, Informatics, Information Communication Technology, Medical Education and Human Resource for Health in close collaboration with health sector in Ethiopia. TIE would like to invite qualified candidates to apply for the following open positions.

Job Title: IT System Engineer
Duty Station: In all regions other than Addis Ababa
Required Number: 5
Qualification: BSc/MSc degree in computer engineering or Information Technology or Electrical Engineering and 7/5 years proven experience in networking and related IT tasks. Strong field experience a plus.
Job Summary The position is responsible for networking and LAN/WAN system support. Competencies Required: Coherent in team participation within the Organization and with partners, flexible and able to work in a challenging, multi-cultural and team- oriented environment, be able to manage workloads and responsive to problems, strong analytical, decision-making, creative skills, ability to work in adverse working condition, good interpersonal relation and communication skill is mandatory, willing to perform other duties and responsibilities as required to fulfill job function as assigned.
1. Responsible to manage/migrate/upgrade/deploy IT systems including LAN and WAN systems including wireless networks and ensure its overall operations, support, modification and maintenance
2. Responsible to maintain/deploy IT systems for maximum uptime, monitor IT system performance and resource requirements, specify and install system upgrades
3. Perform/verify daily backups, troubleshoot system issues to resolution
4. Able to manages/deploy multiple servers, and workstations, ensuring proper integration of the various components within the computer systems
5. Manage and deploy multiple linked database applications including security, data safety and integrity, disaster recovery, and development and implementation of bulk data import/export procedures
6. Plan and implement system security policy, to include firewalls, host and client access, file permissions, and user accounts
7. Conduct growth analysis and capacity planning, and develop capital and operating budget proposals
8. Provide on-call consulting advice and technical support to various users/client organizations regarding specific operational/applications issues, troubleshoots and resolve networks, computer systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems
9. Collaborates to implement various training and instwction programs for users on the use of operating IT systems, networking, applications, databases and administration/support
10. Maintain broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or IT systems
11. Provide application and IT systems testing, perform application customization and assist in the application development
12. Prepare technical documentations, monitors work activities undertaken to ensure quality of deliverables in the desired timeframe including formulating deliverables and timeframe
13. Able to prepare both narrative and tabular reports on each activity on a regular base
14. Perform system administration
15. Participate in manual preparation and trainings
