Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) Officer - Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Association (CCRDA)

The Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Associations (CCRDA) and The Child Survival Collaboration and Resource Group (CORE Group) have agreed to work together to support and coordinate efforts of Private Voluntary Organizations (PVOs) and NGOs operating in Ethiopia on polio eradication intervention towards the achievement of polio free country.
CCRDA/CORE Group invites potential applicants to fill the position of Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) Officer on contract basis:
Program/Project/: CORE Group
Duration: three (3) months with possibility of extension
Duty station: Addis Ababa with frequent field visit
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Preparation of proposals, work plans, M & E frame works, M&E indicators and matrix for the projects, Design procedures and instruments for planning, monitoring and evaluating project activities at all level and strengthen the existing ones,
• Establish monitoring and evaluation system and databases for data analysis,
• Oversee and execute M&E activities included in polio eradication with particular focus on results and impacts,
• Foster participatory planning and monitoring; organize and provide refresher training in M&E for project implementing partner staff, and primary stakeholders with-view of developing local M&E capacity,
• Undertake regular visits to the partners field office and community level to support implementation of M & E plan,
• Collect program data from partners field office on a regular basis,
• Generate periodic reports, analyze data and track progress and provide feedback on key indicators,
• Document and disseminate best practices and lessons learnt,
• Participate, monitor and follow the baseline and evaluation survey activities under the project,
• Work with staff of the secretariat office in preparing articles for publication, documenting the project’s progress and achievements,
• Any other responsibilities in the general support of CORE Group Ethiopia child survival and malaria prevention and control programs.
Required Qualifications and Experiences:
• MD or BSc with Post Graduate Degree in MPH or MSc (in health informatics, health monitoring & evaluation and biostatistics) from recognized University,
• At least five years of relevant work experience on Monitoring and Evaluation of health related projects,
• Knowledge on Monitoring and evaluation of child survival projects and community based disease surveillance activities is an asset,
• Knowledge and experience on handling surveys and operational researches,
• Strong knowledge and skills in basic Microsoft and data analysis packages,
• Good communication skill and excellent in writing and speaking,
• Planning, time management and presentation skill,
Terms of employment: three months contract with possibility of extension
Salary: Negotiable
