ECX is implementing  a EU funded project on “ Support for Agricultural Marketing Development in Ethiopia (SAMDE)”, that  aims to enable small holder producers to reduce their poverty through enhanced integration in to agricultural commodity markets,  obtaining respective up to date prices and relevant market information and enhancing the production and marketing of quality and standard products. ECX would now like to recruit and fill the following two vacant project posts.

 
Job Title:           Project Accountant
Duty Station:     Addis Ababa
Duration of Assignment: 18 months
Terms and Conditions: Negotiable
 
Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of project financial plan based on physical activities of the project;
• Monitor financial plan performance and project transactions according to EU and ECX procedures to ensure healthy financial flow;
• Verify and prepare payment documents against programme budgets and contracts;
• Register the financial operations in the applicable accounting databases and Maintain effective project finance accounts and financial documentations 
• Facilitate external auditing activities and make the records available to Auditors as required;
• Collect, analyse and consolidate project financial data and provide timely and reliable financial information and periodical financial utilization reports;
• Assist in the preparation of financial report and provision of training to implementing agencies.  
• Work in close cooperation’s with other experts responsible for EU financed projects/programmes;

Job Requirements

Required qualification and experience

• BA degree in Accounting and 5 years’ experience of which 2 years should be on project management areas, Proven analytical, problem solving, and financial analysis skills,  High level computer proficiency, and knowledge of Peachtree Accounting; Good communication and report writing skills.
