The Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) invites qualified and competent applicants for the following post.

Position TitleHuman Resource and Administration Officer
Required: One
Reports to: Administration and Finance Director

Responsibilities and Tasks
 
1.    HR Management:
  •  Ensures the proper implementation of EPHA’s personnel activities as per as the Human Resources Policy Manual and the Labour Code of Ethiopia;
  • Participates in recruitment and selection of employees as required in consultation with the Finance and Administration Director;
  • Ensures the timely renewal/termination of staff contracts and liaises with all units;
  • Ensure that all staff members have submitted their leave plan each year and follow up the implementation of the plan accordingly;
  • Monitors, follow up and assesses staff members satisfaction periodically;
  • Advice Administration and Finance Director on HRD policies and issues in order to maintain and fairly manage Human Resource of the Association;
  • Administers employee benefits, such as, provident fund, insurance and educational programs;
  •  In collaboration with department directors propose staff development plans;
  • Handles employee grievances, disciplinary issues and other administrative problems according to EPHA’s HR policies and procedures;
  • Monitors that staff performance appraisal is conducted on time for all staff of the Association;
  • Follow up the timely completion of performance appraisal of staff under probationary period;
  • Ensures computerized database on human and material resources of EPHA;
  • Plans short and long range HR requirements for the organization.
  • Supervises, leads, guides and supports the staff responsible to her/him;
  • Completes all performance management activities including: performance planning, monitoring, and annual performance appraisals.
 
Other:
  • Perform administrative related activities
  • Prepares periodic report and submit to the Administration and Finance Director;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 


Job Requirements

Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING
  • BA degree in Human Resource Management or Management
 
EXPERIENCE
  • 4 years of relevant experience after graduation.
  • Experience in NGO environment is preferred.
 
TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS
  •  Integrated knowledge and understanding of human resources concepts, practices, systems, and procedures;
  • Ability to interact and deal with people;
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and decision making skills;
  • Good skills in the use of computer;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
 
 
 
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Salary: As per EPHA salary scale
Duration of Employment: One year with possibility of extension based on performance assessment.
