Working in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office (FHAPCO), and Regional Health Bureau (RHBs), International Center for AIDS care and Treatment Ethiopian Program-Columbia University (ICAP-CU) in Ethiopia, funded by PEPFAR through CDC supports comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in hospital-health center-community health networks in Oromia, Somali, Harari and Dire Dawa regions of Ethiopia. Currently, ICAP-CU in Ethiopia provides support with the overarching goals of quality service delivery, capacity building, and health system strengthening.
ICAP-CU in Ethiopia is looking for qualified candidate for the following vacant position:Position: Regional Director
Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Hawassa, Assosa and Gambella
Overall Job Objectives:
The Regional Director will supervise ICAP-CU Ethiopia regional staffs and oversee the coordination of the implementation of ICAP-CU Ethiopia program in the ICAP-CU operation region. S/he will follow up the planning and updating the execution of planned activities of the regional office. S/he will facilitate communication, teamwork and assist in coordinating regional and central office activities and assist in program monitoring and reports development.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:Under the supervision of ICAP-CU Director of Regional Program Implementation, the Regional Director will have the following duties and responsibilities;
- Oversee the overall regional office program and management activities;
- Oversee the development and implementation of ICAP-CU Ethiopia’s support to RHBs, ZHDs and the Woreda-facility health networks in the region;
- Lead Regional Office staff in developing annual and quarterly plans and monitor the implementation of planed activities;
- Coordinate and follow-up visits to zones, woreda health offices and health facilities in the regions by the Regional Office staff;
- Harmonize regional Office staffs’ site visits with that of central technical advisors;
- Provide direct technical assistance (clinical mentorship and supportive supervision) to health facilities supported by the Regional staff;
- Work closely with RHBs, ZHDs and Woreda health administrations in the Region in establishing ownership and sustainability of the HIV/AIDS program;
- Represent ICAP-CU Ethiopia in the operation Region;
- Compile and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports; and
- Perform any other duties related to program implementation as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Job Requirements
Required qualification and experience:- MD and MPH or Specialty in health fields
- 5 years work experience in HIV/AIDS care and treatment
- Experience in leadership and program management
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge with ability to use the MS Office applications
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
