Sales Specialist - Ethiopian Trading Enterprise (ETE)
The Ethiopian Trading Enterprise (ETE) has been established by the government of Ethiopia in the beginning of 2013 as Ethiopia's first cash&carry wholesale enterprise to provide high quality consumer goods at stable affordable prices to small retailers and food service businesses.
ETE is managed as private company based on international best practices with a value proposition based on good prices, a one-stop-shop assortment, high availability, strong customer relationships and close proximity to customers. ETE's first stores in Addis Ababa are currently under construction and will open in January 2014. Further stores in >25 towns in the main population centers of Ethiopia are planned to be opened within 2 years. ETE is expected to become the leading player in the fast growing Ethiopian consumer goods market in the near future. |
Job Description
· Promote maximum sales of merchandise
· Maintain highest possible level of relationship with customers and promptly resolving complaints.
· Maximise merchandise opportunities by being aware of changing customer needs and out of stock situations and reporting these to the supervisor for corrective action.
· Assist in protection of the showroom assets by correctly carrying out procedures for prevention of theft, reporting any staff / customer dishonesty or irregularity and reporting and/or preventing any security hazards such as fire, and physical threat
· Ensure that all the barcodes are properly fixed on the merchandise. Record daily sales figures separately and keep any related paper work up to date
· Wear the company uniform in a neat and smart way. Follow the company dress code strictly.
· Attend company training programs. Take responsibility for self development and increase one’s product knowledge by reading catalogues, magazines, labels etc.

Job Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• 2+ years retail/wholesale/trading experience
• Native speaker in Amharic
• Strong ability to interface and persuade customers
• High customer Service Orientation
• Communication Skills
• Selling Skills
• Pleasant personality and polished manners (incl. grooming)
• Experience and/or understanding of retail/wholesale
