Corporate Relations Manager - Unilever/Ethiopia

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
The main purpose of the role is to manage all external and internal communications, media relations and publicity. You will also be responsible for the sustainability and corporate social responsibility portfolio. With a strong focus on local processes, you will manage public relations including government and community relations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Management of relationship with strategic media gatekeepers to company’s advantage, by being the first port of call for all media enquiries into the business.
  • Manage and implement daily media surveillance, scanning and analysis etc. requests for visuals and photography and keep record of media coverage.
  • Communications Lead on issues and crisis management.
  • Apply the instrumentalities of business communications in enhancing employees engagement through cascade, company events, conferences etc.
  • Activate and manage the company’s community relations and sustainability programme – this includes CSR programmes.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to the various company community relations programmes.
  • Management of relationships with investors ( Shareholders Associations),Key Opinion Formers, relevant stakeholders and relevant government agencies.
  • Protocol services.

Job Requirements

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduate level with relevant degree and/or relevant work experience (ideally Mass Communications, English, Media Studies, PR or Journalism)
  • Minimum of ten years post graduation experience in similar job
  • Strong writing skills
  • Project management and organisational skills is a must
  • Good team player
