CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR INTERNAL/ EXTERNAL APPLICANTS

AMREF in Ethiopia would like to recruit IT Manager for the Country Office.

IT Manager: - ETCO/HR/044/2013 

The job holder will be based in Addis Ababa country office and will have extensive support to field offices.     

Purpose of the Job: 
To ensure the efficient and effective provision and monitoring of ICT services at Country level in line with AMREF’s Corporate ICT Strategy.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Participate in the formulation and implementation of integrated network architecture for AMREF Ethiopia computer systems and applications.
  • Lead in designing optimized network infrastructure for the Country Programme
  • Participate in, designing, installing, configuring and/or upgrading of all applications in the Country office
  • Participate in ICT strategy development and implementation
  • Backing up AMREF Ethiopia’s system configurations, user lists, contacts, Passwords (System state) and databases
  • Ensuring ICT staffs are well skilled to manage the systems
  • Ensuring ICT is operational in the field offices
  • Participate in the development of bespoke software in line with the corporate guidelines and best practices e.g. e procurement, Grants management etc
  • Ensuring maintenance of software and hardware inventory
  • Assist in preparation of contracts for ICT service providers
  • Negotiating with service providers for specific ICT services
  • On a regular basis carrying out research on Hardware & software and sharing results with AMREF staff
  • Undertakes other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements

Key Qualification 
  • Bachelor degree in IT, computer science or related field and Masters degree in the area is an added value
 
Work Experience
  • Minimum of five years related experience out of which 3 years at a supervisory position in networking, infrastructure, system administration and etc.   
  • CISCO certification and Network Associate
  • LAN Management
  • Microsoft certification is Systems Engineering
  • Hardware and software integration and basic maintenance
Language Requirement
  • Fluency in English and Amharic required.
Employment Conditions:
This employment is two years renewable contract based on performance, institutional structures and resource.
