Human Resource Intern

Objectives: The main objectives of having the HR intern are to give support to the HR & Admin department in the recruitment process, updating personal files and organising HR data.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
 
  •  Assist the HR Manager in the recruitment and selection  process:
    • Receiving ,collecting  & filing application letters and C.Vs
    • Facilitate the  short listing process
    • Organise written test and interviews
    • Creating  personal file for new staff 
  • Update personal files of all existing national and international staffs and ensure completeness according to the personal file check list.
  • Prepare expense authorization for the salary of temporarily employees  
  • Ensure complete and up-to-date filing of all Human resources documentations as per the agreed filing system.
  • In the absence of Office Administrator & HR Assistant, the intern takes the responsibility to fill the gap.
  • Perform other HR department duties as assigned by the HR manager.
  • Support projects to have proper personal files
  • Support projects in preparing final payments for leaving staff and other work load.
  • Perform and promote Merlin’s objectives with respect to Merlin’s Code of Conduct.
 
 
IN GENERAL
 
  • To carry-out any other duties and/or responsibilities assigned by the HR Manager.
  •   The intern will respect staff confidentiality at all times and develop/implement systems to ensure that all HR processes of Merlin are kept strictly confidential. 

Job Requirements

  • BA degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Management, Secretarial Science or related field
  • No previous work experience required and fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Flexibility and ability to stand in for others when required to do so is necessary.
  • Good inter-personal, communication (English and Amharic-written and spoken) is mandatory.
  • Fast learner and  ability to work under pressure
