Background
Mothers and Children Multisectoral Development Organization (MCMDO) is an Ethiopian resident charity organization and established in 1997. MCMDO is being implementing various projects and development activities in Oromiya region, BenishangulGumuz region, Somali region and City Administration of Addis Ababa. 
In collaboration with SIDA/Swedish, MCMDO plans to implement the project entitled “Prevention of HTP, GBVand Economic Empowerment of Marginalized Groups through sub-granting and capacity building of local CSOs/NGOs” through different sub- grantees in different areas of the country. The main objective of the project is:
  • Strengthen the managerial and coordination capacities of 20 sub-grantees CSOs/NGOs operating in the emerging periphery target areas
  • Improve the health status of 97,000 marginalized women youth and children by reducing harmful traditional practices and gender based violence through sub-granting of local CSOs/NGOs. 
  • To meet these objectives MCMDO calls for competent professionals to apply for the following vacant position.
Job description
The primary responsibility of this position will be the management and administration of grants that support program implementation, strategies and goals of programming to serve the needs of the community. This position must assure the full cycle grants process compliance with MCMDO policies and SIDA Swedish rules and regulations, from procurement and solicitation through reporting and monitoring requirements. The Grants Manager will serve as the main MCMDO point of contact for local grantee organizations on financial and program matters related to grant management.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge of NGO sector issues and experience in financially administering donor-funded programs. S/he will have substantial responsibility for financial grants management with the SIDA Swidish. S/he will have a good understanding of multilateral funding procedures and contractual requirements. In addition, the incumbent expects proactively work closely with the program and finance staff of the sub-grantees to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial management and reporting of grant funds, and to identify potential financial risk areas in order to be better prepared for audits.

Job Requirements

Job requirement
  • BA/ MA degree in Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related fields
  • A minimum of seven years for BA and four years for MA demonstrated work experience as a final responsible in Grant Management.
  • Ideally working as a proactive team member delivering results against an agreed implementation plan
  • Well grounded, professional preferable with ample experience sub-grant management and administration for development programs with international, non-profit organizations (larger than 33 million birr), as well as multi-office, multi-national environment. 
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • A team player able and willing to perform tasks to make the project successful
