Sandoz invites applications from dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic, qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following vacancies to be stationed at the Ethiopian Representative Office in Addis Ababa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accomplish human resource strategies by: determining accountabilities; communicating & enforcing values; implementing policies & procedures; best practice recruitment & selection; orientation, training, coaching, counselling, dealing with disciplinary issues, communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies according to HR Global policies and in line with the Country Head
  • Manage compensation and payroll, performance processes, human resources management systems and safety.
  • Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants according to Novartis best practice guidelines
  • Develop and implement human resources policies and job descriptions according to HR Global guidelines
  • Develop in accordance with the Direct Manager employee development plans
  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Analyze training needs to design employee development plans, language training needs and health & safety programs.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control or coordinate the personnel training, and/or labour relations activities of the organization.
  • Prepare personnel forecast to project future employment needs
  • Prepare and adhere to authorised budgets
  • Study legislation, arbitration decisions and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
  • Contract with and manage vendors to provide HR services

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree
  • High proficiency in English is required
  • Knowledge of HR processes (e.g. Payroll, employees relations, tax, development planning, performance management and  communication)
  • Business acumen, awareness and understanding
  • Entrepreneurship and strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong teamwork and networking skills
  • Outgoing and persuasive with the ability to deal with people who hold differing beliefs or values
  • Must have a flexible approach in order to adapt to constant changes
  • 5  years minimum Human Resources Generalist Experience
